humid air to trigger showers and thunderstorms in many areas. This will be
followed closely by a cold front which is expected to enter the state's
southwest on Saturday and then continue through to the northeast on Sunday,
bringing significantly cooler conditions. In the early parts of next week, a
new high pressure system is forecast to strengthen to the south of Tasmania,
with a trough lingering near eastern New South Wales. This pattern has
potential to maintain showery conditions in eastern areas for a number of days.
