Thursday  
Gulf of Carpentaria or eastern Arnhem coastline during Saturday as a severe tropical cyclone before moving inland over central parts of the NT during the weekend. Ahead of the tropical cyclone, showers and thunderstorms will be isolated across the Top End, while in the south mostly clear skies will result in a continuation of very hot conditions.

Friday  
A slight to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms north of Elliott, increasing to a high to very high chance over the northeast Arnhem District and Groote Eylandt. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Very hot across central and southern districts. Moderate easterly winds south of Elliott, tending south to southwesterly elsewhere. Winds strengthening during the day about the eastern Arnhem and Carpentaria District coasts, with possible gale force winds near part of the coast depending on the movement of Tropical Cyclone Trevor.

Saturday  
Mostly sunny south of Tennant Creek. A medium to high chance of showers and thunderstorms, increasing to a very high chance with rain areas and heavy falls over the Carpentaria and eastern Arnhem Districts. Very hot across the Tanami, Lasseter and Simpson districts. Damaging to very destructive winds over parts of the eastern Arnhem and Carpentaria Districts as Tropical Cyclone Trevor makes landfall. Moderate easterly winds south of Tennant Creek, tending moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly elsewhere.

Sunday  
A medium to high chance of showers and thunderstorms north of Tennant Creek, with rain and possible heavy falls over the Carpentaria and northern Barkly Districts. A slight chance of showers or thunderstorms elsewhere. Strong and damaging winds over central parts of the Territory. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds across the Top End. Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds across the Lasseter and Simpson Districts.
