firm ridge is extending north along the east Queensland coast in the wake of
the trough and is also maintaining dry conditions over much of the interior. An
inland surface trough and the associated chance of storms extends over the far
west of the state and will contract into Northern Territory on Thursday and
Friday. A ridge of high pressure will persist over eastern Queensland through
the weekend, whilst a weak trough will enter the far southwest of the state.

Mostly sunny. Winds easterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light before dawn then
becoming easterly 20 to 30 km/h in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling
to between 17 and 23 with daytime temperatures reaching 31 to 36.
